Topline President Donald Trump posted an AI-generated photo of himself as the pope Friday evening, sharing the image a few days after he jokingly suggested he would like to be the next head of the Catholic Church, which will soon vote on the late Pope Francis’ successor. Vice President JD Vance told Fox News on Friday he would let Trump speak to his political future, noting the president “loves to have a good time with the American media.” Trump has also proposed making Canada the 51st state, an idea first taken as a joke that the president later confirmed was a legitimate idea. Trump has claimed Canada “would be much better off” as a U.S. state—an idea outright rejected by Canada, and a taunt that helped secure Prime Minister Mark Carney’s election victory last month.
