The U.S. Treasury Secretary is set to begin a series of interviews with Federal Reserve Chair candidates on Friday.
BlockBeats News, September 3rd. According to sources familiar with the matter cited by The Wall Street Journal, U.S. Treasury Secretary Yellen plans to conduct a series of intensive interviews with Federal Reserve Chair candidates starting from this Friday.
The sources said that the interview process will last until next week, during which Yellen will communicate with the candidates in face-to-face or video meetings. According to Yellen and her advisors, there are currently a total of 11 candidates in the running, including Fed governors Waller and Bowman, National Economic Council Director Hassett, and former Fed governor Warsh.
After the interviews, Yellen will submit the final recommended candidate list to President Trump. Yellen had previously stated that shortly after Labor Day, he would start the selection process for the next Federal Reserve chairperson. (FX678)
