According to a report by Jintou, citing Japan's Kyodo News, Iranian Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian stated that Iran hopes to completely, comprehensively, and permanently end the war, rather than just a temporary ceasefire.

In a phone interview with Kyodo News on the 20th, Amir-Abdollahian said that the attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran are illegal and unjustified acts of aggression, and he hopes the whole world will unite to voice opposition. Several countries have begun to promote a ceasefire, but Iran is only considering a solution that ends the war in one go. Iran does not accept a temporary ceasefire but demands a comprehensive end to the war, including ensuring that Iran is no longer attacked and compensating for the losses Iran has suffered.

Amir-Abdollahian also mentioned that he does not believe the United States is prepared for negotiations. The report stated that Amir-Abdollahian expressed the intention to negotiate with Japan and allow Japanese vessels to pass through the energy transport route of the Strait of Hormuz.
