In April, the JOLTs job openings in the United States rose to 7.62 million, reaching a nearly two-year high
According to Jinshi, the number of JOLTs job openings in the U.S. significantly increased in April, rising from 6,890,000 in March to 7,620,000, reaching the highest level in nearly two years. At the same time, the number of layoffs decreased to 1,690,000, indicating a strong labor market. Although the number of job openings is still below the levels seen during the pandemic reopening, this stability may weaken the rationale for interest rate cuts, and Federal Reserve officials are beginning to discuss the possibility of interest rate hikes.
