Crypto.com is partnering with Underdog to launch a sports prediction market in the United States.
BlockBeats News, September 2nd, according to TheBlock, Underdog has partnered with Crypto.com's Derivatives North America to launch a sports prediction market in 16 states, with a focus on states where sports betting is not yet legal, such as California and Texas. Once launched, fans will be able to trade on the outcomes of major leagues such as the NFL, NBA, MLB, and college football, with prices updating in real-time.
However, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and federal courts are still debating whether the sports prediction market constitutes gambling, infringes on state rights, or violates the Commodity Exchange Act.
